on the way to pontian, dropped by uncle david's mini fruit farm in pekan nanas. which is actually really the retirement home he is preparing that has a humongous garden with all different types of tropical fruits except bananas (too cheap) and watermelon (too mafan to grow). oh and that place also has a hugeass pond that he is waiting for the waterlevel to rise and eventually he will put fish and prawns inside so that people can fish/prawn for leisure then bbq to eat. in that short time i was there, i ate my entire year's worth of pulasan and green oranges. the fun in going to this kind of place is really plucking fruits from the trees and eating! i'm so going to visit him when he retires. haha

today is prawning day! even though prawning is like such an ah pek sport, i really enjoyed it. it is super fun! man am i aging fast or what -_-. i returned empty handed T_T but only because we donated the prawns we caught to the man beside us. so kind right! ok lah i caught a grand total of five prawns *beams* but yea, it is really very fun. and corny as it sounds, once you're hooked, you can't run away! i am so going back to do more prawn fishing.

i am finally back in jb! ok was back on monday like 11pm? ridiculous! travelled since 615am. AM! and took like many different modes of transport. boat, plane, car, bus, only short of a motorcycle ride which looked pretty tempting when the bus made a super long stop along the NS highway. pretty much slept the whole of today away. oops. i mean, who can fight fatigue right? in addition to the fantabulous thunderstorm threatening to blow away all the papaya trees outside. perfect weather for sleeping.
as of 10.08.2008, i am:
1) 21 yrs old. ok, doesn't really make a difference to me.
2) a PADI certified open water diver. WOOHOO!! woo who? wen ling lah. -_-
redang was really really really nice! even if it wasn't for scuba, it would be a brilliant place to just nua. totally my type of thing. hurhur. definitely will go back there, be it to dive or snorkel or just chill with the sun, sand, sea and me. ok it is weird, i haven't been to the beach since i was like 10 and this summer i have been on two beach getaways and im pretty sure at some point in my life i'd like to live by the beach. i didn't take many pictures simply cos there wasn't any time! we were busy. either busy having lessons or busy having fun! hurhur.
on the first day, we were like zombies because we our flight from subang was really early. fel and i didn't sleep in case we'd oversleep. how creber! by the time we got to redang all i wanted to do was just crash on the bed and sleep but nooooooooo, we had to go for lessons. basically, i slept through all the dvd lessons that we had. oops. -_- during our self-given breaks, we went to chill by the beach. the seawater is super clear. even clearer than the pool in jb. hurhur.
the four suspects. skiving from boring dvds.

the four suspects. skiving from boring dvds.at night was like the olympics opening ceremony, but by the time we got to the big screen, it was like the march past. sorry to say, the marching bit was kinda boring. so fel and i went to play carrom. when you have two people who played carrom donkey years ago, with no recollection of rules or even how to play the game besides whacking those carromythingy into the corners, you get lots of creativity. even pple who stopped by to watch us play were just baffled by what we were playing. but seriously, it was super fun! -_-
the next day we started diving and seriously, it was horrible at first. bleurgh. at the end of the day i was pretty certain i'm never ever diving again. but i guess it just takes some time to get used to the sensation of being underwater, breathing through a tube, swallowing super salty seawater and hearing lots of things yet nothing in particular at the same time. eventually, diving becomes really fun and you start appreciating the surroundings and stop worrying about like controlling your finning, breathing etc. well none of us had a functioning underwater camera, but there was this dude who was ain's friend who was an experienced diver and had like an underwater camera case thingy so we have a few photos underwater =)
zen wasn't feeling well so she didn't join us on the last dive so no pic of her underwater :( but ah wells, next time! ok i thought i was smart for putting the peace sign so that i could recognise my picture but i guess all of us had the same bright idea -_-. how smarto! *claps* ok scuba gear really makes you look kinda funny. it was weird cos while in the water, all of us kept clumping together -_-. i'll be swimming happily before i realise i'm like swimming right under suesue, fel is on my left and zen not too far on my right and before you know it, we're tangled in a mess and kicking one another in the face to get out of the way. talk about unity and bonding.
dive gear is like super heavy, so when they feel kind, they will send the tractor to help carry the stuff, but most of the time we had to lug our own gear down to the shore, which by the way, is no fun at all. really trains up your core stability muscles man. after the last dive, we negotiated and got to sit the tractor back! that made us a mini celeb (quote bryan's word) because everyone along the beach started whipping out their cameras (all sorts, from phones to digital to SLRs) and snapping away at us. i mean, why?!?! why would you want to take pictures of five girls sitting on a tractor scoop thingy lined with dive gear (man, i really need to find more appropriate words) i really wanted to drive the tractor! but ong (?) didn't allow. but ok i should be happy he obliged and allowed us to ride on the tractor. talk about cheap thrill. haha. and the most ironic thing is that these many strangers have pictures of us on the tractor, but none of us have that picture. -_-
i'm getting lazy and losing concentration, so i shall just stop talking. all in all, redang was awesome. thank God for the brilliant weather, keeping all of us safe and sound and putting wonderfully weird and friendly people along the way for us to meet, make friends and do things. -_- shall end with wise words from bryan. prob the only thing i rmb from lessons. BWRAF. british women really are fat. bangkok women really are fun. black women really are friendly. belgium women really are freaky. -_-. hopefully i will rmb what they really stand for the next time i go diving.
